We’re moving from little monsters yesterday to wedding days today! When you see a new wedding or two every weekend, there are a ton of amazing and unique ideas that couple’s pull into their big days. I’m at awe every week on how couple’s turn their wedding days into stories of true love that reflects them as a couple. Take a look at some of the recent things we’ve been seeing and loving!
First, I’ve got to start with Josh and Heather’s skeleton cake topper from their August wedding! These characters sat on top of a gigantic and beautiful five tiered cake (that was mighty delicious, might I add!) They were the perfect addition to a wedding ceremony and reception that just *screamed* Josh and Heather! From the prelude music full of their favorite TV show and movie theme songs, to apothecary jars filled with the things they both love the most used as centerpieces…. to all in attendance it was obvious who we were there to celebrate.
At Lori and Sagar’s April wedding, Sagar was feeling a little left out that Lori got to pick out her dress and keep it a secret during the entire planning process. Sagar went ahead and ordered this custom suit that matched their hues of purple (all the way down to the stitching!) to surprise Lori on the day of their wedding!
Chrissie and Doug lit a memory candle in honor of her father who had passed away. This was the most beautiful and perfect sentiment in their ceremony. We knew that Mr. Bixler was watching down over his daughter on her beyond stunning wedding day.
Julie and Dan’s wedding day took place on a local Ranch – complete with a horse drawn ride to the ceremony site in the apple orchard and a barn reception with exposed beams and beautiful woodwork. The couple took the vintage rustic theme and ran with it, incorporating vintage tables, chairs, glass and other pieces into their decor, including these shutters that held the placecards for guests!
It was a good ol’ backyard style wedding at a historic house in tucked just outside of the city. Clair and Aleesha provided guests with mason jars and a sign instructing them to sign their name and fill it up for the night! A simple styled chalkboard sticker made for the perfect appliqué.
Stacey and Kyle held their May ceremony and reception at a local mansion complete with beautiful gardens and a reception area with a unique layout. As guests entered into the foyer, they picked up their placecards with little vintage keys attached. When they arrived to their tables, an old door knob with flowers decorated the table.
Adam and Adrienne had a custom made, hand painted (by Adrienne’s mom!) guestbook canvas! She incorporated their yellow and grey color scheme to create a tree full of leaves and a subtle A, A and H hidden in the branches. Each guest was instructed to “leaf” their name on the canvas!
Each of these details may have worked for the couple, but might not be something that works across the board. Every wedding is different and it’s important to pick the details that are right for your love story!
What details from your love story did you incorporate into your wedding day? Or what are you planning on including?
