I can’t believe it’s already the weekend – usually I am not one to be so opposite on days of the week and what to be excited for, but being as though I’ve spent more of February under the weather than healthy, I’m just looking forward to days of no coughing, sleeping soundly and breathing through my nose. But I digress…
Last weekend I had the sweet opportunity to attend a Chef Demonstration at The Hotel Hershey as a part of Chocolate Covered February. This was another PA Blogger meetup, and the first that I’ve planned for the group since Lauren’s been away. Chocolate Covered February is a month long celebration of just that… chocolate! in the sweetest place on earth. Hershey, PA is packed full of great events for participants of all ages, from girls nights to family outings as well as a date night with your sweetie. The events also have a wide price range for all budgets, so there really is something for everyone.
The PA Bloggers met in the hotel lobby and we worked our way up into the Garden Terrace room where Chef Mario was excited to teach. He shared with us the ins and outs of creating yummy chocolate covered pecans, a salad with homemade vinaigrette dressing, and chocolate braised lamb. After sharing all the individual steps with us, he shared how to piece them all together to make one delicious meal!
Afterwards, much to the PA Bloggers delight, we had the opportunity to taste! The lamb was served cold, something that I was a little weary about at first. I’m one to usually prefer my meat warmed, but combined with the salad, dressing, pecans and fried wonton I didn’t mind it at all. Delicious!
Chef Mario even chatted with us and posed for a photo before we took our meetup downstairs to the Cocoa Beanery for sweet treats.
